Unparalleled Expertise, Unwavering Reliability, and Guaranteed Client Satisfaction!
Our Behavioral Health Unit is led by Inspector Jennifer Love who brings years of experience in the court system and holds a degree in Psychology. Her vision is to provide outreach services to societies most vulnerable citizens and those in need.
The name of our Behavioral Health Unit is Kenzie's Squad. This is in dedication to Inspector Love's daughter, MacKenzie, who passed away from COVID-19 in January 2022 and who also was a Heart Warrior along with Phoenix. MacKenzie was truly an inspiration and was an extremely kind girl. MacKenzie was always joyful and made everyone smile and laugh. MacKenzie will always be missed and this unit name dedication is a testament to just how kind MacKenzie was and how we will be with all those we serve and help.
Kenzie's Sqaud members engage with the unhoused around our client properties and offer services through our wide range of partnerships in the area. Our Behavioral Health Unit Patrol Vehicle as well as our agency's main fleet are outfitted with blankets and snacks during the winter months. Officers throughout our agency, not only those assigned to this unit are encouraged to engage with those exposed to the elements during the winter months, offer blankets in order to conversate with them in an attempt to bring them inside to a shelter and out of the winter elements.
Members of Kenzie's Squad are additionally trained in Mental Health First Aid and Awarness. This benefits all of our clients as there are trained mental health officers on duty and able to respond to a clients property for their residents or guests.
While members of Kenzie's Squad are by nature Protection Professionals we understand that having a full dress uniform may not be an easy image to look at when in crisis. While on Behavioral Health Unit assignments and shifts, members are in a less intrusive uniform. If you see a member in grey pants and a dark navy polo shirt, those are our Behavioral Health Unit Officers.
Inspector Love's vision for this unit is to expand to all communities Phoenix Protective Service operates in, assisting not only clients but being a support service to local police departments with our extensive reach to other mental health services and organizations.
